The bachelor thesis was created in association with the University of Technology of Graz and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Clinical Forensic Imaging which is part of the Medical University of Graz
Effective volume visualization has become very important for several fields such as medical diagnosis, treatment of diseases and the accuracy and sustainability analyses in industrial branches. In medical imaging, three-dimensional images provide physicians and radiologists with the ability to analyze complex structures of interest in the human body such as organs.
The goal of this thesis was to conduct a full research about different volume visualisation techniques of Computer Tomography (CT) or Magentic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data. Furthermore, one method was chosen to implement in the given framework of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Clinical Forensic Imaging. The tool was implemented using Qt (C++) and CUDA.
