frei:raum by sonible GmbH is an audio plug-in with three interacton layers for different audio processing tasks. The first layer, called 'smart:eq', provides manual and automatic adjustment of the spectral balance of a track. The second layer 'proximity:eq' enables simple and fast adaption of the spaciousness of a recording within different frequency ranges. Thirdly, the 'entropy:eq' adjusts the tonal and inharmonic components of a sound.
My task was the concept, design and implementation of the graphical user interface of frei:raum using C++ and the JUCE framework. The main challenge was to create a familiar, but innovative look so that musicians and producers are well versed with this new way of postprocessing audio.
